Can you access and update your small business's website and social media platforms? Could you send an email from your MailChimp, Campaign Monitor or other account in an emergency? If the answer is no, you could be putting your business and reputation at risk.
While you might have a great website guy and an awesome agency that posts to Facebook and sends out e-newsletters for you, as a small business owner it's important that you have access to all your online channels.
Access gives you control in situations where you need to get a message out urgently. It gives you the freedom to take action yourself, or to ask a staff member or contractor of your choice to get the message out for you. It also gives you the option to implement initiatives in-house at a lower cost.
What should you be able to access? At a minimum, I would suggest you need access to:
- Your website
- Social media channels
- Bulk email provider (if you have one)
- Domain name provider
If you'd like to be able to manage some updates in-house, it's vital that you equip yourself and your staff with the skills and training you need first. We can help you access the tools you need, train you to use them and provide coaching and encouragement along the way.
You need to be able to continue communicating in a timely fashion, no matter the circumstances!
